A Rubik’s cube enthusiast has broken a Guinness World Record by solving two Rubik’s cubes during a skydive over Oceanside, California. Ishaan Hadkar, aged 24, completed the challenge after jumping from a plane at 13,000 feet. The record was for the most rotating puzzle cubes solved in a single skydive.
Ishaan has been solving cubes since he was 10 years old. His first attempt was also his first-ever skydive, but it ended early when one of his cubes broke in mid-air. Instead of giving up, he got straight back on another plane and tried again.
On his second attempt, Ishaan solved one cube while falling through the air and another after his parachute had opened. He said the challenge was difficult because the weather was windy and cloudy. During freefall, he was travelling at about 120 miles per hour, so he had to hold the cube much tighter than usual.
Ishaan said he was thrilled when Guinness World Records approved his achievement. He described it as an important moment in his 14-year cubing journey. After landing, he even thought he might have been able to solve five cubes in the air.
