A 66-year-old woman from California has broken her own world record as the oldest female competitive skateboarder.
Judi Oyama set the new record when she competed in the 2025 International Slalom Skateboarding World Championships in Brazil, in November.
Guinness World Records confirmed she was 66 years and 25 days old at the time — enough to beat the record she had set two years earlier, at age 64.
Oyama first started skateboarding when she was just 13, and began competing professionally back in 1975 — more than 50 years ago.
In 2018, she was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in recognition of her long career.
She isn’t finished yet, either. Oyama is planning to stretch her record even further in October, when she competes at the World Skate Games.
“I feel like I have raced to my best each year, but know that as I age I don’t need to prove anything,” she told Guinness World Records.
For Oyama, age clearly hasn’t slowed her love of skateboarding.
