Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump clashed in a fiery debate, the only one scheduled before the November 5 election.

Harris repeatedly attacked Trump on topics like abortion limits, his legal troubles, and his fitness for office, aiming to put him on the defensive. Trump, known for his combative style, responded with a mix of denials and unsubstantiated claims.

Harris, a former prosecutor, challenged Trump’s policies and comments, including his claim that Harris had recently “become a Black person.” Trump’s remarks sparked strong reactions, with Harris accusing him of using race to divide Americans. Both candidates exchanged barbs on immigration, foreign policy, and the economy, though the debate focused more on personal attacks than detailed policies.

The debate started with a surprise handshake between the two, marking the first such gesture in a presidential debate since 2016. As the candidates aimed to sway voters, the tension highlighted the high stakes of the upcoming election, with polls showing the race is very close.
