The 2026 FIFA World Cup is shaping up to be one of the biggest sporting events in history, and the opening ceremonies are already generating plenty of buzz.
FIFA has announced the entertainment lineups for the tournament’s first matches across all three host nations: the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The action kicks off on June 11 at Mexico City’s iconic Azteca Stadium, where Mexico will face South Africa. The pre-match entertainment will feature a strong Latin music flavour, with performers including J Balvin, Maná, and Los Ángeles Azules among others.
The following day, June 12, all eyes will turn to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, for the United States’ opening match against Paraguay. Pop superstar Katy Perry will headline the ceremony, joined by rappers Future and Rema, along with singers Lisa, Tyla, Anitta, and DJ Sanjoy.
Canada’s opening game against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto’s BMO Field will have performances by Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé taking the stage alongside a string of other international artists.
All ceremonies are set to begin 90 minutes before kickoff, giving fans plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere before the football gets underway.
