The All Blacks have beaten South Africa’s Springboks 33-16 in an exciting rugby match in Johannesburg on Saturday, scoring five tries to the Springboks’ one.

It was the first Test of the “Greatest Rivalry” series between the two teams, played at a stadium called Ellis Park.

South Africa scored first with a penalty kick, but the All Blacks hit back through wing Will Jordan, who dived over for a try in the corner.

The two teams then traded tries and penalties, including one from wing Josh Moorby, before South Africa edged ahead 13-12 at halftime.

The All Blacks lost two players to head knocks during the match, prop Ethan de Groot and lock Josh Lord, who were replaced by teammates George Bower and Simon Parker.

In the second half, the All Blacks pulled clear with 21 points in a row without reply, including tries from lock Fabian Holland and openside flanker Luke Jacobson.

Late in the match, two Springboks players were sent to the sin bin, a temporary time-out for breaking the rules, leaving South Africa with only 13 players on the field.

The All Blacks made the most of their extra players, with Will Jordan scoring his second try of the match to seal the win.

All Blacks captain Ardie Savea said, “We’ll take this win, but we know it’s not over. We’ll keep going.”

Coach Dave Rennie praised his forwards, saying the scrum, where players push against each other for the ball, was a big part of their success.

The win is an important one for the All Blacks, as South Africa had won seven of their last ten matches against them, and the two teams will now play more matches as part of their big rivalry series.
