This week, the world’s biggest video gaming convention, Gamescom 2024, is happening in Germany. The event, filled with exciting new games and tech, will run until Sunday, with fans and gaming companies eagerly showcasing what’s coming in 2025.

One of the standout announcements is from Xbox, which revealed their new Adaptive Joystick designed for gamers with mobility issues. After years of research and collaboration, Xbox created a controller that can be used with one hand. The joystick is customisable with six different designs that players can 3D print, making it easier for everyone to enjoy gaming.

In addition to new tech, several intriguing games were announced. “Floatopia” is a cozy sim game coming to PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s set on floating islands in the sky and features characters with quirky superpowers. Players can explore different islands, customise their characters, and enjoy a sprinkle of magic.

Another colourful game, “King of Meat,” is a combat adventure where players battle in a mystical world full of dungeons and monsters. Available on major consoles and PC, it promises weird and wonderful ways for gamers to have fun and express themselves.

“Hela,” by Swedish studio Windup Games, takes players on a magical journey through a Scandinavian village. As a mouse with a magical backpack, gamers help an unwell witch by gathering resources and making potions.

Lastly, “Two Point Museum” is a business simulation game where players build and manage museums and aquariums. The goal is to attract visitors, collect donations, and expand exhibits. This game follows the success of “Two Point Hospital” and will be available on PS5, Xbox, and Steam.
