Even though the Zespri AIMS Games have only been running for three days, a campaign called Positive Vibes Only is already spreading across every sport at the event.
The campaign is a partnership between the Zespri AIMS Games, Sport Bay of Plenty and Sport Waikato.
It encourages everyone taking part, from players and coaches to supporters and officials, to be positive. That could mean cheering someone else on, offering a helpful tip, or simply accepting the referee’s call.
What is Positive Vibes Only?
Positive Vibes Only was developed by Sport Waikato. It’s more than just a campaign, it’s designed to build positive environments through posters, education and practical tips.
It reminds coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and supporters just how important their role is in creating a great sporting experience for everyone involved.
Rather than focusing on the negative, the campaign is about helping people change their language and behaviour, so that players, coaches, supporters, parents and officials can all enjoy being part of sport.
Organisers say the goal is simple: keep people enjoying sport and involved for life.
That fits well with the spirit of the Zespri AIMS Games, where giving it your best matters just as much as winning. Look out for Positive Vibes Only ambassadors bringing the energy to the sidelines all week.
