SMART Prep | Quick Question 213881

Last Saturday, a group of Year 8 students walked part of the Motu Trail near Ōpōtiki. The track followed a calm river and passed through native bush. Along the way, the students saw tūī, a small waterfall, and several old pā site signs. Their teacher said the trail is one of the most enjoyable ways to learn about local history because it combines exercise, scenery, and Māori heritage. One student wrote in her journal, 'The walk was the best school trip ever because the trail was exciting and peaceful at the same time.' Another student noted that the path was 8 kilometres long and took just over two hours to complete. At the end of the day, the class was tired but pleased with what they had learned.
