What’s in the Olympic Box?

If you’ve been watching the Olympics, you might have seen the athletes receiving medals for their incredible performances. But have you noticed that they also get a long cardboard box during the medal ceremonies?

This special box contains a Paris-themed poster.

When you open the box, you’ll find a cartoon version of Paris, created by illustrator Ugo Gattoni. The poster features a big red Eiffel Tower and the Seine River, surrounded by illustrations of different sports. At the top, it says “XXXIII Olympiade,” which means that Paris 2024 is the 33rd edition of the Olympic Games.

In addition to the poster, athletes receive a plush toy version of the 2024 Games mascot. And let’s not forget the medals themselves, which contain tiny pieces of the Eiffel Tower, making them extra special for the athletes to take home.
