Moo Deng, Thailand’s famous baby pygmy hippo, now has a catchy theme song to celebrate her worldwide fans.

The 50-second tune, called “Moodeng Moodeng,” comes in Thai, English, Chinese, and Japanese. It features fun lyrics like “Moo Deng Moo Deng, boing boing boing. Mommy mommy, play with me,” and a video showing the playful hippo bouncing around with her mom, Jona, and her keeper.

Moo Deng, whose name means “bounce” in Thai, is just four months old but has already become a viral sensation thanks to her cheerful energy. Her cute antics have inspired memes, sports team logos, and even merchandise such as clothing and bedding. She lives at a zoo two hours from Bangkok, which now welcomes thousands of visitors daily, eager to see the baby hippo.

The zoo’s director, Narongwit Chodchoi, said the extra funds from visitors and Moo Deng-themed products will support conservation efforts for endangered animals, including pygmy hippos. These small hippos, native to West Africa, are critically endangered, with only about 2,000-3,000 left in the wild due to poaching and habitat loss.

Set on a vast 800-hectare property, the zoo is home to over 2,000 animals. With Moo Deng’s popularity, the zoo hopes to continue protecting rare creatures while entertaining visitors from around the world.
