Labrador Cleans up Litter

A black Labrador named Logie is making a big difference in Plymouth, England.

The four-year-old dog has been trained by his owners to pick up litter during his daily walks. Logie even collects rubbish from the sea, making him a true helper for the environment.

Logie’s owners both work in jobs connected to environmental studies, and it seems their pet has followed in their footsteps. His interest in tidying up began when he was just a puppy. One day, he fetched a bottle from the sea, and his owner, James Westgate, decided to train him to collect more.

Now, Logie can carry all sorts of things, from crisp cans to traffic cones. On many walks, he gathers piles of rubbish, which his owners recycle or throw away properly. His helpful habits have even earned him a social media page called Litter Logie.

James says Logie’s talent is a perfect match for his own passion for protecting nature. “He’s obsessed with picking up litter and I really care about the environment, so it’s a win-win,” James explained.
