A German man named Tommy Schmidt has built the world’s largest Lego brick sausage in Thuringia, Germany. The 45-year-old used 65,000 Lego bricks to make a giant bratwurst in a bun. The model was officially recognised by Guinness World Records. It measured 6 feet and 6.7 inches long.
Schmidt said the idea came from Die Thüringer, a meat and sausage producer from his region. He explained that he enjoys unusual challenges and wanted to build something big. The team decided a bratwurst would be a fitting choice because it is a famous food from Thuringia. A bratwurst is a type of German sausage that is well known in many parts of the world.
The project took about a year to complete. The building stage alone lasted around six months. The finished Lego model showed a sausage in a bun with a line of mustard on top. It is now on display at Die Thüringer’s headquarters.
Moving the huge model was not easy. Schmidt said many helpers were needed because of its size and weight. He also had to plan carefully so the model could fit through a large patio door.
