The Minions are returning to the big screen this July, and things are about to get very chaotic.

The final trailer for Minions & Monsters has dropped, giving fans their best look yet at the little yellow troublemakers’ next adventure. Set in the 1920s, the film follows the Minions as they head to Hollywood and somehow manage to become movie stars. But of course, they don’t stop there.

Wanting to make their own film, the Minions decide it should be all about monsters. To do that properly, they try to summon a terrifying creature from the underworld. What they get instead is Goomi, a small green creature who is cuter than scary.

Goomi ends up being more helpful than expected, leading the Minions to the monster they were really after: a creature named Irene. She seems perfect for their film, until they discover one small problem. Once Irene arrives in Hollywood, she apparently plans to “destroy everything on the planet.”

So now the Minions, who caused the problem in the first place, might be the only ones who can fix it.

Minions & Monsters hits cinemas on 1 July 2026, right in the middle of the New Zealand school holidays.
