A loose dog surprised everyone at the Milan Cortina Olympics when it ran onto the cross-country ski course during the women’s team sprint heats.

The athletes were racing hard towards the finish when the dog suddenly appeared and sprinted along the straightaway beside them.

Instead of causing panic, the dog seemed excited, as if it wanted to join the competition. The skiers kept their focus and did not stop, even with the unexpected “runner” nearby. Spectators laughed and cheered as the dog bounded along the track.

For a few moments, it looked like the dog might become part of the official race. It even crossed the finish line, creating an amusing scene for fans watching in the stands. Soon after, venue officials stepped in and safely restrained the animal.

Officials later explained that the dog had slipped away from its local owner during a walk close to the venue. Luckily, nobody was hurt, and the race continued as planned.
