Tallest NBL Player leaves Breakers

Tacko Fall has announced his departure from the New Zealand Breakers. The 2.29-meter-tall center from Senegal joined the team in the 2024–25 season but has now left by mutual agreement.

Fall, a former NBA player, had trouble reaching his full potential during his time with the Breakers. He averaged 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks over 18 games after starting with the team on a U.S. tour last September.

Before playing in the NBL, Fall appeared in 40 NBA games for the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers between 2019 and 2022. His departure means the Breakers must now find two new international players, especially a centre and a shooting guard, before the next season begins in September.

The team will rely on American guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright, who returns for his third season, to help them improve after finishing ninth last year.
