A new Guinness World Record was set when 897 dachshunds, also known as wiener dogs, marched through the streets of Regensburg. The event, called the Dackelparade, took place near the city’s famous Dachshund Museum, or Dackelmuseum.
While some people counted over 1,000 dogs, Guinness officials confirmed the final number at 897—enough to break the previous record for the largest dachshund dog walk. Each dog was accompanied by its owner, turning the event into a joyful and furry celebration.
The parade was organised by Seppi Küblbeck and Oliver Storz, who run the Dackelmuseum. They said the goal was to spread happiness and bring the community together.
“The dachshund isn’t political,” Küblbeck told a local newspaper. “For the dachshund, all people are equal.”
People of all ages gathered to watch the long line of little dogs with big personalities. Many wore costumes or colourful leashes, adding to the cheerful atmosphere.
