At the 2024 Egg Fair in Mexico, a new Guinness World Record was set when over 2,000 students completed a challenging egg-and-spoon race.
This exciting event took place in Tepatitlán, Jalisco, where nearly 2,700 high schoolers balanced eggs on spoons while racing down a 100-meter track. Of these, 2,039 students successfully finished the race without dropping their eggs or breaking any rules, beating the previous record of 1,400 participants set in London.
The Egg Fair, organised by the Tepatitlán Poultry Farmers Association, is held in Jalisco, Mexico’s top egg-producing region, which supplies over half of the country’s eggs.
Along with the record-breaking race, the fair featured other fun activities, including an egg hunt, a decorated cart race, a bicycle race, and an exhibition with 100 egg-based dishes.
