Anna Grimaldi, a top Paralympic athlete from New Zealand, has been chosen as one of the flagbearers for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris.

Grimaldi, known for winning gold medals in the long jump at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, will carry the flag alongside fellow athlete Cameron Leslie during the Opening Ceremony on August 28th.

Grimaldi expressed her excitement, saying that being selected as a flagbearer is a great honour and a significant achievement in her career. She felt proud to be recognised as a leader within the team. The announcement was made at the Paralympic farewell event in Auckland on August 24th.

New Zealand is sending 25 athletes to compete in eight different Para sports at the Paris Paralympics, which will run until September 8th. Grimaldi will compete in three events: the T47 Long Jump, T47 100m, and T47 200m. She eagerly looks forward to representing her country and making this one of the highlights of her athletic career.
