1448km journey for californian cat

A cat named Rayne Beau recently amazed his owners by traveling almost 1448km on his own.

The gray cat got lost in Yellowstone National Park in June while on a camping trip with his family, the Anguianos, who live in Salinas, California. After two months, Rayne Beau mysteriously ended up in Roseville, California, just 321 km from home.

The Anguianos searched for him for days but had to leave the park heartbroken. In August, they received a surprise message from a microchip company saying their cat had been found at a local SPCA. A kind woman had seen Rayne Beau wandering the streets and took him in.

Although the cat was much skinnier and his paws were sore, the Anguianos believe he made most of the long journey by himself. They’re grateful to have him home and have added GPS trackers to their pets. For now, though, the family is holding off on more camping trips!
