The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has arrived in New York City, marking the start of the holiday season.

This year, a 74-foot Norway spruce, weighing 11 tons, was brought in from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Workers placed the massive tree outside Rockefeller Center, where it will soon be decorated with over 50,000 LED lights and topped with a stunning crystal star.

The tree lighting ceremony, one of New York City’s most popular holiday traditions, is set for December 4. Each year, thousands of people gather to watch the sparkling lights switch on, officially kicking off the Christmas festivities.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has been a holiday icon for more than 80 years, symbolising the joy and spirit of the season. Meanwhile, families around the world are beginning their own traditions by putting up trees and decorations at home.
