Thousands have turned out for Auckland’s Pasifika Festival.

This year’s festival was a spectacular celebration, bringing together communities from 11 Pacific Island nations, showcasing their rich cultures at the Western Springs venue.

From the energetic dances and soulful songs to the intricate arts and crafts, every aspect of the festival is a testament to the pride and joy of the Pasifika peoples. The performers, decked in their traditional attire, are seizing this wonderful opportunity to share the beauty of their heritage with fellow Pacific Islanders and festival-goers from all walks of life.

The event is not just about performances; it’s also a culinary adventure. Visitors are treated to an array of local delicacies, offering a taste of the Pacific right in the heart of Auckland, which is known as the largest hub of Pasifika people in Aotearoa.

Among the crowds are notable figures, including New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, who, along with other Members of Parliament, is taking the time to explore the various ‘villages’ set up at the festival. Each village represents a different Pacific Island nation, providing a unique glimpse into the diverse cultures that make up this vibrant community.

The Pasifika Festival is a family-friendly event, drawing thousands of people who come together to enjoy and celebrate the rich tapestry of Pacific cultures. As the festival wraps up tomorrow, those who attend are left with lasting memories of the joyful and spirited celebration that is a highlight of Auckland’s cultural calendar.
