A surprising scene unfolded on April 16 at Patron Mexican Restaurant and Cantina when a small snake fell from the ceiling and landed in a customer’s margarita.
The incident happened just as Carletta Andrews, a diner at the restaurant, was about to take a sip.
The baby snake bounced off her forehead and dropped right into her drink. “It was moving. It started wrapping around my straw,” Andrews told a local news station. She was shocked and scared by what had just happened.
Restaurant staff tried to remove the snake by encouraging it to climb onto a stick. When that didn’t work, another customer picked it up with their hands and took it outside. Andrews was so shaken, she decided to leave immediately.
“I kept saying please don’t let it go in my purse,” she said. Though the restaurant offered her another table, she preferred to go home.
The restaurant’s owner believes the snake may have gotten in through the air conditioning vents. Andrews later said she’s not planning to eat out again anytime soon.
