This classic board game has been around for centuries, originally invented in India! It’s a simple race to the finish, but luck plays the biggest role—one roll can send you shooting up a ladder or tumbling down a snake. Perfect for younger players or anyone who just wants some easy, old-school fun.
8th Place: Bananagrams
Bananagrams is like Scrabble on turbo speed. Each player races to create their own crossword grid using letter tiles, making it a brainy but fast-paced word game. This game came out in 2006 and is ideal for travel or a quick competition during a lunch break—you don’t even need a game board!
7th Place: Beat the Parents
Released in 2004, Beat the Parents is a hilarious trivia and challenge game where kids go head-to-head with adults. I especially think It’s great for family game night, with loads of trivia questions and ridiculous dares. This one is all about teamwork—and definitely the winning side will get bragging rights.

Steady hands are a must in Operation, a game where players act as surgeons trying to remove tiny plastic “ailments” without setting off the buzzer. 2nd Place: Cluedo
Known as Clue in some countries, Cluedo is the best murder mystery game. Players gather clues to figure out who committed the crime, with what weapon, and in which room. I especially love Cluedo because of the investigation and being my very own FBI agent.
1st Place: Monopoly
At the top of the list is the one, the only—Monopoly. This game, first released in 1935, is famous for turning friends into rivals as players buy properties, collect rent, and send each other to bankruptcy. It’s best played when you’ve got lots of time, as games can go on for hours. And better yet, Monopoly has many variations such as Monopoly Junior, Monopoly Cheaters Edition, Monopoly Deal, and more.
From rolling dice to making sneaky trades, these board games have earned their spot as true legends. Whether you’re battling it out in Catan, cracking the case in Cluedo, or monopolising your way to victory, there’s something here for every kind of player.
