Dancer balances 468 glasses on Head

On Easter Tuesday, dancer Dinos Kkantis amazed a crowd in Aradippou by balancing 468 wine glasses on his head—while dancing.

His impressive feat may have broken the current Guinness World Record.

The performance was part of a traditional event where Kkantis showed off the “Dance of the Glasses,” a cultural routine from Cyprus. As he danced, helpers stacked tray after tray of wine glasses on his head. He didn’t stop moving, even as the number grew to 468.

If confirmed, this would beat the current record of 319 glasses, set by another Cypriot, Aristotelis Valaoritis, in May 2023.

Kkantis’ team recorded the entire performance, and now Guinness World Records must check the videos and other evidence before declaring it official.

This daring dance takes balance, focus, and a lot of practice. Kkantis hopes his new record will bring attention to traditional Cypriot dance and inspire others to celebrate their culture in creative ways.
