Have you ever wondered how old is too old? Well, you might be surprised to hear that one day, people could live to be 141 years old! That’s right, according to American research, Dr. David McCarthy says it’s possible that men could live to 141, and women could live to over 130.
Until now, scientists thought the oldest people could live to was just over 120. But with improvements in healthcare and better food, we could live much longer in the future. Can you imagine what the world will look like if we make it to 141 years old?
A hundred years ago, people didn’t live as long as they do now. But with better healthcare and food, people started to live longer throughout the century. By 2010, the average age most people could expect to live to was 82 for women and 78 for men.
Jean Louise Calment, from France, lived to be 119 years old! She said that her secret to a long life was not to worry about things she couldn’t control and she loved sweets.
