A 24-year-old electronics enthusiast in India has built the world’s smallest arcade machine, measuring just 2.4 cm tall. The tiny device can even play a classic arcade game called Space Invaders.
The creator, Kiran Patil, said he has loved electronics since he was a child. Over the years, he has built many small projects using microcontrollers and tiny screens. However, this was the first time he tried to build a miniature gaming arcade machine.
The machine is extremely small, measuring 2.4 cm tall, 1.5 cm long and 1.4 cm wide. Despite its size, it includes four working buttons. Players can use these buttons to control an emulated version of the famous arcade game Space Invaders.
Patil first thought of the idea during the COVID-19 pandemic. He built an early version at that time, but it was very simple and the software still needed work. Later, university studies and job commitments paused the project for a while.
In the summer of 2025, Patil decided to continue the project and improve it. After more development and careful building, the tiny machine was completed and officially recognised as the world’s smallest arcade machine.
This is not Patil’s first world record. In 2019, he also created the world’s smallest working drill.
