A 90-year-old English teacher from Michigan has made history by earning a Guinness World Record for teaching the same subject for 67 years. Beverly Hannett-Price, who works at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, was surprised with the award during a school assembly held in her honour on Monday.

The record was given for the longest career as a female language teacher. Hannett-Price began teaching in 1958.

The assembly included guest speaker Courtney B. Vance, a former student who became a famous actor. He thanked her for helping him become a better writer and said they’ve stayed in touch over the years.

Other famous students who learned from Hannett-Price include actor Robin Williams and Steve Ballmer, the former CEO of Microsoft.

Despite her long career, Hannett-Price says she’s not planning to stop. “I love this school. I love teaching,” she told the crowd.
