New Zealand defeated the West Indies by four wickets in Hamilton on Sunday, winning the third one-day international (ODI) and completing a 3-0 series sweep.
Mark Chapman led the chase with a strong 64 runs, helping the Black Caps reach the 162-run target with more than 19 overs to spare.
The West Indies chose to bat first at Seddon Park but were bowled out for just 161 runs in 36.2 overs. Matt Henry was the top bowler for New Zealand, taking four wickets for 43 runs. Mitchell Santner also helped with two wickets using clever spin.
The match started well for the West Indies, who scored quickly in the first 10 overs. However, they lost wickets regularly, with four falling for just 36 runs. Only Roston Chase (38) and Khary Pierre (22 not out) offered much resistance.
New Zealand’s run chase wasn’t smooth at first. They lost three early wickets and were 70-4 when captain Tom Latham was dismissed. But Chapman and Michael Bracewell, who scored 40 not out, steadied the innings with a 75-run partnership.
Chapman reached his half-century with a six and continued his good form, now having five scores of 50 or more in his last seven matches. New Zealand had already won the first two games of the series by seven runs and five wickets.
