A 10-year-old boy from Britain, known as “Seagull Boy,” has won his second straight title at the European Championship Gull Screeching event.

Cooper Wallace took first place in the junior category on Sunday after performing in a seagull costume and impressing judges with his realistic bird calls.

The event, held in the seaside town of De Panne, brought together 70 contestants from 13 countries. Judges rated each performance based on how closely the calls, costumes, and movements matched real seagull behaviour.

Cooper began his seagull-screeching journey after a real gull bit him during a visit to the beach. Since then, he’s been perfecting his loud and accurate bird sounds. This year, he wasn’t the only one in the family to take the stage—his 7-year-old sister Shelby, nicknamed “Sea Gurl,” placed fourth in the same category. “I was nervous but happy,” she said, adding that she was proud of her brother’s win.

In the adult category, Danish contestant Anna Brynald took first place, wearing white-and-yellow face paint to look like a gull. A team from Italy called Gabbiani Partigiani won the group competition.
