Cat breaks Record with Long Tail

A cat from Minnesota has earned a Guinness World Records title for having the longest tail on a living domestic cat.

Mr. Pugsley Addams, a silver Maine coon, has a tail that measures 47 centimetres long. He lives with the Cameron family and is just two years old.

The idea to check if Pugsley had a record-breaking tail came after the family’s vet mentioned its length more than once. Curious, the Cameron children looked up the current record—and were surprised to find that their pet had beaten it!

Amanda Cameron, Pugsley’s owner, says he’s not just famous for his tail. He’s also known for being calm, friendly, and always purring. People who meet him often call him a “local celebrity.”

Pugsley’s soft fur and gentle personality make him a favourite everywhere he goes.

After school, the library hosted a robotics workshop for Year 8 students. At first, the room was noisy and crowded, but once the tutor started the lesson, everyone became focused. The students had to build a simple machine that could move a pencil from one side of the table to the other. One group worked carefully, testing each part before adding the next. When their robot finally moved in a straight line, the class gave a short cheer. The tutor said the success came from persistence, because the students kept improving their design even when it did not work straight away.

In the passage, what does the word "persistence" mean?
