A 10-year-old boy from Wisconsin, in America, made an unusual 911 call when he needed help with his math homework.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office shared that the boy explained his family struggled with math and hoped someone could assist him. Although 911 is meant for emergencies, dispatcher Kim Krause took the time to help.
The boy’s question involved decimals, and Krause admitted she wasn’t sure how to solve it. She then asked Deputy Chase Mason, who was nearby, to step in. Despite admitting math wasn’t his strongest subject, Deputy Mason visited the boy’s home to help solve the tricky problem.
The deputy worked through the decimal problem successfully, and the young caller even received some friendly advice: next time, use the non-emergency line for similar situations. Sheriff George Lenzner said this lighthearted incident showed their team’s commitment to helping the community—even in unexpected ways.
