A Canadian rock band called The Miners & Sons has set a Guinness World Record by performing the deepest concert ever underground.
The show took place 8,086 feet below sea level at the Kidd Mine in Timmins, Ontario. This event surpassed the previous record of 6,213 feet, set by the Shaft Bottom Boys in 2020 at Creighton Mine, also in Ontario.
Drummer Norm Dwyer humorously remarked, “This mine has spent 68 years taking rock out of that place, and then spent one day bringing it back.” The Kidd Mine, known for its long history of extracting precious metals, became the stage for this unusual musical achievement.
Breaking the record wasn’t just about music; it also showcased the teamwork and preparation needed to bring instruments and equipment deep into the earth. Fans and organisers celebrated the event as a unique moment combining music and mining history.
