Whittaker’s announced a new limited-edition chocolate block combining white chocolate with bubblegum flavouring and colourful gumdrops.
The Gumdrop Block, made using the company’s 28% cocoa white chocolate, became available in supermarkets across New Zealand from Monday, featuring five different gumdrop flavours scattered throughout.
Ahead of the supermarket launch, Whittaker’s teamed up with Duck Island Ice Cream to create a special tie-in flavour called Bubble Gumdrop, which mixed pieces of the new chocolate block through a bubblegum-flavoured ice cream base. Duck Island stores across the country began scooping the flavour on Sunday, with the first fifty customers at each store receiving a free scoop and a complimentary chocolate block.
Whittaker’s chief marketing officer Soraya Cottin described the block as one of the brand’s most playful and experimental creations yet. Duck Island’s flavour development director, Morgan Glass, said the collaboration built on more than a decade of using Whittaker’s chocolate in the company’s ice cream.
