What does AIMS Games mean for young athletes?

The New Zealand Zespri AIMS Games is a well known sporting event for intermediate students all across New Zealand. With a focus on creating memorable experiences, it was established to promote a premier sports program.

The games offer a platform for students to compete in a diverse range of sports. Including basketball, football, netball, swimming, badminton, BMX, golf  and many more.

 Hosted annually in Tauranga Moana, the event draws participation from hundreds of schools and thousands of athletes, highlighting the importance of youth sports, development, and community engagement.

Sponsored by Zespri, New Zealand’s leading kiwi fruit exporter, the games emphasise not only athletic excellence but also the values of teamwork, fair play, and personal growth.

The event is designed to be a positive, inclusive experience, encouraging students to strive for their best while building friendships and enjoying the competition. 

The games aim to promote sportsmanship, skill development, and enjoyment among young athletes, with participation from schools across New Zealand, building a sense of community through friendly competition.
