The Italian city of Milan might soon stop selling ice cream after midnight to keep the streets quieter and more peaceful at night.

The local government wants to pass a new law that would ban the sale of gelato (Italian ice cream) late at night.

They hope this law will help residents have a calmer and more peaceful environment during nighttime hours. If the law gets approved, shops won’t be able to sell any takeaway food or drinks after midnight starting next month.

People who live in Milan can share their opinions or suggest changes to this law until early May.

This idea isn’t new—it was first brought up in 2013, but back then, the mayor who suggested it faced a lot of strong criticism from the public.
