Popstar Harry Styles is heading to New Zealand next month — and will be required to take part in New Zealand’s 2023 Census.

On March 7th, census night, the former One Direction star will be bringing his Love On Tour showcase to Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium.

The law of New Zealand says that “everyone who is in Aotearoa New Zealand on census night (Tuesday 7 March), needs to be counted in the census.”

This includes tourists, visitors, and former members of One Direction.

The official law is the Data and Statistics Act 2022. Because the census is so important and required by law, people can be prosecuted if they fail to complete their census form(s). Stats NZ’s priority is to encourage and remind everyone to complete their forms, and to provide support to make this as easy as possible.”

The NZ Census is conducted to work out the population of the country but also to better understand Kiwis’ lives.

It will include a range of topics, from population demographics, location, and ethnicity, to income, work, disability, and even cigarette smoking, among other things.
