Auckland golfer Fiona Xu has earned a spot on the 2025 LPGA Tour after excelling on the Epson Tour.

Fiona finished eighth in the ‘Race for the Card,’ where the top 15 players gain entry to the prestigious LPGA Tour.

Xu, who plays at Titirangi Golf Club, had a stellar amateur career, winning the New Zealand Championship in 2020 and the Australian title in 2023. This achievement mirrors Lydia Ko, the last Kiwi to do so in 2012. Xu turned professional after reaching a world amateur ranking of 13th and helping New Zealand finish ninth at the 2023 World Team Championships.

In her first year as a pro, Xu claimed her first victory at the Copper Rock Championship with a record score of 22-under-par. She also had two other top-five finishes, earning nearly $150,000 in prize money.

“I’m super excited,” Xu said. “It was my goal to finish in the top 10 and make it to the LPGA next year.” Now, she joins fellow New Zealander Lydia Ko on one of the biggest stages in women’s golf.
