Coldplay’s concerts at Eden Park have drawn huge crowds, with 57,000 fans attending a sold-out show on Wednesday and two more concerts scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

These performances are part of the stadium’s current six-concert annual limit, which Eden Park boss Nick Sautner hopes to increase to 12. Sautner believes the success of these events and the economic benefits they bring prove the stadium is ready for more.

Eden Park has previously hosted stars like Six60, Pink, and Guns N’ Roses. Sautner highlighted Coldplay’s Sydney shows, which boosted the city’s economy by $90 million, and estimates a $20 million boost for Auckland this week. He says 97% of the community supports more events, and the concerts are creating excitement in nearby neighborhoods.

The venue is ready for another memorable night, despite heavy rain in Auckland on Friday. Fans arrived as early as 9 a.m. to buy merchandise, and 3,000 staff will ensure everything runs smoothly. Sautner described the atmosphere as a “real carnival” and is optimistic about bringing more international artists to Eden Park. “We’ve delivered,” he said, emphasising the stadium’s value for both sports and entertainment.
