Baby born in Krispy Kreme parking lot

In Dothan, Alabama, a family received free Krispy Kreme doughnuts for a year after their baby was born in the parking lot of the shop during a rare snowstorm.

Sha’nya Bennett and Keon Mitchell were rushing to Flowers Hospital when Bennett realised her baby wasn’t going to wait. Just a mile from the hospital, they pulled into the closed Krispy Kreme, where baby Dallas Mitchell was born before emergency responders could arrive.

In honour of this extraordinary event, the Krispy Kreme manager promised the family free doughnuts for a year and even offered to host Dallas’ first birthday party at the shop. Family members have joked about giving Dallas the middle name “Glaze,” though Mitchell says they’re still deciding.
