Anthony Albanese elected as Australian Prime Minister

Anthony Albanese has won another term as Australia’s Prime Minister in a big landslide victory.

Many people thought he would lose, but he surprised everyone and won even more seats than last time. His main promises were to make doctor visits cheaper, help people buy homes, and protect the environment.

Peter Dutton, the leader of the other team, lost badly—and even lost his own seat after 24 years! Some people thought he was acting too much like Donald Trump, which didn’t go down well with voters. Albanese said this win was about being fair, kind, and giving everyone a chance.

Big leaders from the UK and USA congratulated him and said they want to work closely with Australia.

One big issue during the election was how to help Indigenous Australians after a failed plan to give them a stronger voice in government.

Even though the past few years were tough, Australians decided to give Albanese another go. Now he’ll try to turn his promises into real change for the country.

Thursday evening was colder than I expected, and the wind kept shaking the tents. After dinner, our group sat around the fire and listened to Mr Patel explain how to leave no trace in the bush. He showed us how to pack out food scraps, keep to the track, and check for pests on our shoes before we walked back. I wrote the steps in my notebook because I knew they would be useful later. The best part of the camp was not the marshmallows. It was seeing how carefully everyone looked after the place so the next group could enjoy it too.
