FIFA has revealed the official ball for the 2026 Men’s World Cup, which will be played in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The ball is called the Trionda, a name that means “three waves” in Spanish, celebrating the fact that the tournament will be hosted across three nations for the first time.

The ball’s design includes symbols from each country: a maple leaf for Canada, an eagle for Mexico, and a star for the United States. It also features gold details to represent the famous World Cup trophy.

FIFA says the Trionda is not only symbolic but also highly advanced. Unlike past balls that caused complaints—such as the 2010 Jabulani, which players said swerved unpredictably in the air—this one has been carefully designed for stability. Its four panels are stitched with deep seams to make the ball fly smoothly and evenly.

To help in wet weather, the surface includes small raised patterns for better grip. Hidden close-up designs have also been added for extra detail. Inside, a special motion sensor chip records data at very high speed, which will assist referees using VAR technology.
