Famous street artist Banksy has surprised Londoners with new animal-themed artworks popping up across the city.
These pieces have drawn crowds eager to snap photos, though Banksy hasn’t explained the meaning behind the animals. Known for his secretive identity and bold stunts—like shredding his art at an auction—Banksy’s latest work has people wondering if something big is coming or if it’s just for fun.
Some of his new artworks include a cat on an abandoned billboard, which was removed earlier than planned, and swimming piranhas painted on a City of London Police sentry box. Another shows a gorilla lifting a shutter to free a sea lion and birds at London Zoo.
Banksy’s journey began in the early 1990s in Bristol, where he spray-painted trains and walls. Over time, his work spread worldwide, often delivering messages that poke fun at companies and governments. Despite efforts to uncover his identity, Banksy’s true identity remains a mystery, with some even speculating that he might be more than one person.
For now, Banksy’s identity continues to be one of the art world’s biggest secrets.
