New Zealand Women’s Rugby Sevens Wins Gold!
The New Zealand Women’s Rugby Sevens team won gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics with a thrilling 19-12 victory over Canada. This is their second consecutive Olympic gold, having also triumphed in Tokyo. The New Zealand team scored through Risi Pouri-Lane, Michaela Blyde, and Stacey Waaka, with Pouri-Lane converting one try.
Men’s Football and Hockey Results:
The New Zealand Men’s Football team lost 3-0 to France in their third Group A match. France scored through Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Desire Doue, and Arnaud Kalimuendo. Meanwhile, the New Zealand Men’s Hockey team was defeated 2-0 by Argentina. Argentina’s goals were scored by Tomas Domene and Lucas Martinez.
Canoe Slalom: Finn Butcher reaches Semi-Finals
Finn Butcher advanced to the semi-finals in the Men’s K1 Slalom with a strong first run time of 86.35, finishing seventh in the heats.
Sailing:
In sailing, the Men’s Skiff crew of Isaac McHardie and William McKenzie are in third place after nine races. The Women’s Skiff team of Jo Aleh and Molly Meech are in eighth place. In windsurfing, Josh Armit is in 10th place, while Veerle ten Have is in 16th place.
Shooting: Robinson Narrowly Misses Final
Owen Robinson missed the Men’s Trap final by just one place despite excellent rounds, totaling 121 points.
Swimming and Rowing Highlights:
Eve Thomas finished her 1500m Freestyle in 16:13.74, placing 12th overall. Cameron Gray competed in the Men’s 100m Freestyle but did not advance. In rowing, Robbie Manson and Jordan Parry progressed to the final in the Men’s Double Sculls, and Brooke Francis and Lucy Spoors advanced to the final in the Women’s Double Sculls. Tom Mackintosh and Emma Twigg secured spots in the Men’s and Women’s Single Sculls semi-finals, respectively.
Triathlon Postponed
The Men’s Triathlon was postponed due to water quality issues and rescheduled for the 31st July.

The owners must’ve been scared to lose their cat but in the end the cat was found by a kind person who looked after the cat after walking 1448 km.
