The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is making its return this month, with Toyota backing the event to support young athletes and local communities.

The TRYathlon series will take place across 11 locations in New Zealand from November 2023 to March 2025, with the first event in Manurewa, South Auckland, on November 20. Alongside these races, Toyota also sponsors the TRY CHALLENGE in schools, encouraging kids to be active through a three-week program that provides medals and t-shirts for participants who meet activity goals.

The TRYathlon and TRY CHALLENGE give young Kiwis, ages 5-15, a fun way to get moving and build confidence, especially for those who might not typically have access to sporting events. Toyota has also enlisted support from famous Kiwi athletes like Dame Valerie Adams, rower Emma Twigg, and weightlifter David Liti, who attend events, cheer on kids, and inspire them to achieve their dreams. Twigg, for instance, shares how she was inspired by role models when she was young and now hopes to be that person for today’s youth.
