Rugby League: A Fun and Exciting Sport

The national team, the Kiwis, have won the Rugby League World Cup once, in 2008.  Many Māori players have played for the Kiwis, including Sonny Bill Williams, Ruben Wiki, and Tāwera Nikau. These players have helped lead the team to several victories and have earned the respect of Rugby League fans around the world.

Aside from the Kiwis, Māori players have also shown their skills in the international arena. The Māori Rugby League team has competed against other nations and has consistently performed well. In 2019, they even won the World Cup Nines tournament, which was a great achievement in Rugby League!

The Rugby League community in New Zealand is very diverse, with players and fans coming from various cultural backgrounds. Rugby League is not just a sport in New Zealand; it is a way of life for many people, and the excitement and passion around the game can be felt throughout the country.
