The Silver Ferns have won netball’s Constellation Cup, beating Australia’s Diamonds 52–49 in Sydney on Sunday 25 October 2026.
The Constellation Cup is a series of four test matches between New Zealand and Australia. The Silver Ferns won the first two tests at home, 56–50 in Auckland and 62–50 in Christchurch, so Sunday’s win gave them a 3–0 lead that can’t be caught.
The third test was the closest game of the series. The Diamonds led for most of the match, and the Silver Ferns were two goals behind going into the final quarter.
Then the Silver Ferns scored seven goals in a row to start the last quarter, and held on to win in front of more than 11,000 fans.
It’s only the fourth time New Zealand has won the cup. The Silver Ferns hadn’t had much luck in Australia lately, winning just one of their previous nine tests there.
“We’re just so happy,” captain Karin Burger said after the game.
The team, who also won gold at the Commonwealth Games earlier this year, will play the final test of the series in Melbourne on Wednesday 28 October.
