New Zealand pop star Lorde has announced her fourth studio album, Virgin, will be released on June 27.

The news was shared on her official website, along with what appears to be the album’s cover art—an X-ray image of a human.

Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, also included the phrase “100% written in blood” on the site, hinting that this album may be very personal.

The album announcement came just one week after she released her newest single, What Was That. The song’s music video was filmed during a surprise pop-up event at Washington Square Park in New York City. Although the event was briefly shut down by police, it later continued, giving lucky fans a first listen to the song.

Virgin follows Lorde’s previous albums: Pure Heroine (2013), Melodrama (2017), and Solar Power (2021). She also worked with British singer Charli XCX last year on a remix for the Grammy-winning album Brat.
