Letters to the Editor – Cameras better than Lidar

Dear Editor

The Robot that the intermediate student Doyul made uses a camera which is cheaper to make instead of the traditional expensive lidar technology.

It is cool how it can learn from its own experiences and it can program Autonomously

I think this is really cool.

I strongly agree it is good that it uses cameras instead of the traditional Lidar technology and that makes other things less expensive. For example, robot vacuums, self-driving cars, and other robot things to make them actually affordable for people. With the robot vacuum the fact that it can learn like a child means that it can adapt to its surroundings and recognize objects, for example cables so it doesn’t get all tangled.

I urge that there should be more funding for this project because I believe that this will help other robot devices.

I strongly believe that it is very impressive that this project was made by an intermediate student and I hope that the project can carry on as a legacy for others to build on to.
