Super Rugby Pacific teams wore special Marvel-themed jerseys this weekend as part of a partnership with Classic Sportswear.

This two-year deal introduces a $160 Marvel-inspired jersey and supporter gear, aiming to attract younger fans. The promotion takes place during the ‘Kids Round’ of the competition.

Five teams have chosen superheroes to represent them: the Highlanders picked the Hulk, the Chiefs selected Black Panther, the Crusaders went with Iron Man, the Hurricanes chose Captain America, and the Blues wore Spider-Man designs.

Jack Mesley, CEO of Super Rugby Pacific, said the initiative is meant to engage younger audiences and Marvel fans. He explained that these efforts, along with Super Rugby Pacific Fantasy, are key to growing the game and bringing in second-generation supporters.

Meanwhile, in the competition, the Chiefs remain at the top of the table, leading the Crusaders, Reds, and Brumbies by four points. The Waratahs have fallen to fifth place, while the Highlanders sit in sixth, just ahead of the Hurricanes. At the bottom of the standings are the Blues, Fijian Drua, and Moana Pasifika, each with only one win.
