Rugby fans in Aotearoa are ecstatic that the New Zealand rugby team, the All Blacks, are playing in the Rugby World Cup final. The All Backs and South Africa’s Springboks are going head-to-head to win the William Webb Ellis Cup this weekend. This cup is better known as the Rugby World Cup and is only held every four years!

The All Blacks were the first side to reach the final, beating Ireland in a tough semi-final game.

South Africa won an equally tough battle in their semi-final game against England to secure their finals position.

New Zealand has been in the final five times before, and they were the first team to ever win the cup in 1987! But South Africa are a tough opponent and are the current William Webb Ellis Cup holders, winning the World Cup final in 2019 against England.

Rugby fans in New Zealand are now planning where they will be watching the final match that will be shown on Sky Open, this Sunday, 29th October, at 8am. Will you watch the match and cheer on the All Blacks? Kia kaha All Blacks!
